A FHA insured reverse mortgage is a government insured loan that is only available to homeowners that are 62+ years of age.
The maximum loan size is determined by age, home value and interest rate.
The lowest percentage of home value available is at age 62 while the largest percentage available is at age 90+.
There are no monthly repayments* on a reverse mortgage.
The loan only becomes due and payable upon a maturity event (i.e. the death of the last borrower, the sale of the home, failure to pay the property taxes or keep the house insured).
